Reality TV star Bria Fleming, who appears on Bravo’s Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, has spoken about how her friend Jasmine Ellis Cooper has changed since marrying Silas Cooper, who has been accused of being “controlling” on the show. Bria revealed that “Married Jasmine walks on eggshells, I would say, in a nice respectful way.” She added that “Single Jasmine was like myself. Like, ‘let’s party, let’s go out, let’s go networking at film events. Let’s drink, let’s have a good time.’ Married Jasmine is a bit more reserved and quieter and different.”
Silas Cooper, an Army reserve officer, was accused of being controlling over his wife, Jasmine, while filming the show in the summer of 2022. The couple had tied the knot just before the cameras started rolling. Bria said, “All women should be free to do whatever they like. If you’re in a marriage or relationship, there should be a lot of trust, especially in a marriage. Everyone has different opinions and different beliefs. I don’t really know what their marriage is like or what they agreed upon.”
Silas Cooper responded to the claims of controlling behavior by saying that he has grown since the beginning of his marriage and since filming the show. He spoke about how routines and structure have worked for him, and how he cares about the people around him, including his wife. He admitted that he can sometimes lack flexibility.
Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is a spinoff of Summer House and follows an all-Black cast of 12 friends as they vacation on Massachusetts’ Martha’s Vineyard. The show airs on Bravo every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. Bria and Jasmine both appear on the show.
