In a recent interview, Jeff Lewis expressed his dissatisfaction with the casting decision for season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Specifically, Lewis questions why Taylor Armstrong was not brought back for the new season, expressing his belief that Armstrong provided great value to the show. The response he received from producer Andy Cohen was simply, “I don’t know.” This led Lewis to express his frustration, saying, “Why [does] nobody consult me?”
Following Vicki Gunvalson’s demotion to guest status, Lewis again questioned Cohen about the decision. He expressed his belief that Gunvalson deserves to be a main cast member, rather than simply appearing as a “friend” on the show. In response, Cohen defended Gunvalson’s role on RHOC, stating, “I thought last season was a great amount of Vicki. I thought she came in, she came out. She was fun. She’s light as a feather.” However, Gunvalson herself made it clear that she is not interested in returning as a mere “friend.”
Lewis went on to inquire about the return of another former cast member, Alexis Bellino, to which Cohen did not give a concrete answer. Although Cohen acknowledged Bellino’s connections to current cast members, he did not confirm whether she will be returning to the show for season 18. When asked about the rest of the cast for the upcoming season, Cohen teased, “Wait and see.”
The release date for season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, which will also include cast members Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, Emily Simpson, Jennifer Pedranti, and Gina Kirschenheiter, has not yet been announced.
