In December 2022, Bookout shared with Us Weekly that she was working with a life coach on Teen Mom: Family Reunion to let go of some of her “anger” towards Edwards. However, things continued to spiral for Edwards in the following months.
In February 2023, Ryan slammed Mackenzie in a series of social media posts, claiming that she cheated on him, and was subsequently arrested for violating her order of protection against him and booked on multiple charges, including harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Bookout did not comment on the drama but shared a post on her Instagram Story about the trauma of “narcissistic abuse.” Despite their long history and the challenges they faced, it appears that Bookout and Edwards’ relationship is unlikely to improve anytime soon.
