Jen Shah’s assistant and friend, Murilo Bueno, revealed that Meredith Marks is the only Real Housewife of Salt Lake City to reach out amid Shah’s prison sentence, and Bueno is unsure if Shah plans to return to reality TV.
Jen Shah’s assistant and close friend, Murilo Bueno, has disclosed that Meredith Marks has been the only cast member of ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ to reach out to Shah since her prison sentence. Bueno informed Us Weekly that apart from Meredith, no one has reached out to Jen, and he believes that no one else has either. Despite this, Shah has been receiving support from her family, and they visit her every weekend now that the COVID policies have changed.
In January 2021, Shah was sentenced to 78 months in prison, with five years of supervised release. She made headlines after appearing on reality TV, where she faced legal woes and was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. Shah initially pleaded not guilty, but later changed her plea, and as a result of the plea change, the U.S. Attorney’s office dropped the second charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Marks, however, stood by Shah before her sentencing, stating, “Innocent until proven guilty at the end of the day. My friendship with Jen is a different standard, it’s not held to legal standards, but in terms of a crime, it is innocent till proven guilty.” Although Marks did hear rumors about Shah’s business before her arrest and acknowledged that her eyebrows were raised, she still stood by her friend.
After the filming of season 3 of ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,’ Marks expressed her desire for Shah to have a chance to address everything on the reunion. Meanwhile, Bueno is unsure if Shah plans to return to reality TV after her sentence ends. He believes Shah wants to start afresh and make a difference by helping other women in prison.
Currently, Shah has been teaching a “Shah-Mazing Abs” workout class in prison to keep herself busy and help others. Bueno credits his motivation for working out as inspiring Shah, and states that she is more physically and mentally strong than she initially thought. Shah has been using exercise as a way to promote overall health and wellness for herself and others.
