Charity Lawson’s Dancing With the Stars Finale Experience: Overcoming Negative Feedback & Injury

Charity Lawson and partner Artem Chigvintsev received mixed feedback from Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba but still achieved redemption with high scores from other judges and a perfect score for their freestyle routine. Lawson was forced to go to the hospital after an injury to her jaw during rehearsal, but was able to perform without any issues. She ended the season in fourth place and is looking forward to spending the holidays with her fiance and making plans for their wedding.

Charity Lawson didn’t let negative feedback from Carrie Ann Inaba ruin her experience on Dancing With the Stars and, despite an injury, ended the season in fourth place with partner Artem Chigvintsev, setting her sights on spending the holidays with her fiancé and making an appearance on the DWTS Live Tour in 2024.

Charity Lawson remained undeterred by the negative feedback from Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba during the season 32 finale. Partnered with Artem Chigvintsev, the 27-year-old Bachelorette alum achieved redemption during the December 5th competition, earning a 29 out of 30 for their week one tango. Inaba’s critique didn’t dampen Lawson’s spirits, who told Us Weekly exclusively, “I think I was a little confused [by Carrie Ann’s comments] and I don’t really know what the error was, but I feel really happy with that dance.” Despite the criticism from Inaba, her performance was received positively by the other judges.

Amid the challenge, Lawson was rushed to the hospital for a jaw injury while rehearsing for the live show. Although she was “freaked out” by the incident, her performance went off without a hitch, and she reassured everyone that she was “OK.” Ultimately, Lawson and Chigvintsev finished the season in fourth place. Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy ended up winning the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, with Lawson expressing that wrapping up her DWTS experience was “bittersweet.”

Looking ahead, Lawson is excited to enjoy some quality time with her fiancé Dotun Olubeko and spend the upcoming holidays with her family. She also revealed that she will be making a special appearance on the DWTS Live Tour in 2024. Additionally, she is looking forward to finally planning her wedding and setting a date with Olubeko after a whirlwind post-Bachelorette year.
