Bachelor Nation’s Charity Lawson Shares She Never Imagined Being Engaged

Charity Lawson, known from Bachelor Nation, is currently in New York City searching for her wedding dress, despite never envisioning herself being engaged before her participation in “The Bachelorette” and subsequent engagement to Dotun Olubenko. After her stint on “Dancing With the Stars,” Lawson is planning for a dual wedding ceremony in California and Lagos in fall 2025, while also recovering from a recent breast augmentation surgery.

Charity Lawson, known from “The Bachelorette,” is currently in New York City shopping for her wedding dress, despite never envisioning herself getting engaged before her rapid rise to fame.

Charity Lawson’s journey has been nothing short of a whirlwind. From not seeing herself getting engaged, to now being knee-deep in wedding dress shopping in New York City. It’s a lot to take in, really.

Introduced to us in January 2023 on the flagship Bachelor show, Lawson, at 28, found love. She got engaged to Dotun Olubenko, an integrative medicine specialist, during her stint on The Bachelorette’s 20th season. Fast forward a few weeks post-finale, and she’s dazzling us on Dancing With the Stars, clinching the fourth spot with Artem Chigvintsev. “I came into all of this quickly,” she admitted to The New York Times. “Didn’t even picture myself being engaged.”

Now, she’s on a quest. A quest for the perfect dress. Lawson shared her experiences with The New York Times while at New York Bridal Fashion Week. It’s an event where designers showcase their latest bridal collections to a crowd of journalists, buyers, and, of course, brides-to-be.

Oh, and speaking of brides-to-be, many a Bachelor Nation alum has graced the Dancing With the Stars stage. Not all snagged the mirrorball, but hey, they danced their hearts out. Melissa Rycroft, a Bachelor contestant from 2009, was the trailblazer, even returning for an all-stars round.

Lawson and Olubenko have their sights set on 2025 for the wedding. They’re planning a ceremony in California come fall, followed by a traditional Nigerian wedding in Lagos. Talk about a celebration!

Dotun Olubenko and Charity Lawson, a picture of happiness. Yet, despite the public’s curiosity, they’ve kept their wedding date under wraps. “People want me to spill the beans so bad,” Lawson quipped to NYT. “But that’s our little secret.”

In a surprising twist, Lawson also shared her recent boob job experience. “Best decision in a hot minute,” she declared on TikTok. Fans poured in with support, something Lawson deeply appreciates.

She reassured everyone, “It’s all in proportion.” Lawson, petite by nature, didn’t want her surgery to scream, “Oh my God, this girl got her titties done.” Post-surgery, she’s healing well, even making it to New York for the bridal event and then jetting back to L.A. “Probably should cool it with the flying,” she mused, “but, you know, got things to do.”

So there you have it. Charity Lawson, a whirlwind of engagements, reality TV stardom, and now, bridal bliss in the making. Amidst the chaos, she’s finding her way, dress by dress, flight by flight.
