Andy Cohen thinks the backlash against Tom Sandoval for his cheating scandal with Raquel Leviss on Vanderpump Rules has gotten “out of control.”
Bravo executive producer, Andy Cohen, understands why fans are outraged about Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’ cheating scandal. However, he thinks the backlash has gone “out of control.” Cohen mentions how Sandoval made a mistake that he’ll probably regret the rest of his life, but people need to recognize that he is still a person. Cohen hopes the backlash is dying down since Sandoval is a real person.
Cohen notes how Sandoval and Leviss’s affair has received an over the top level of hatred. He admits that Sandoval did something “really stupid and hurtful and asinine” by cheating on Ariana Madix with Leviss. Fans may be angry since the Vanderpump Rules cast is already “so incestuous,” and Sandoval’s affair with Leviss is not his first on the show. Us Weekly confirmed in March 2023 that Sandoval and Madix split after nearly a decade of dating due to his infidelity with Leviss.
Since news of their affair broke, Leviss and Sandoval have been receiving constant fire. The California native has even checked into a mental health facility earlier this month. The former pageant queen and her family have also been on the receiving end of violent and graphic death threats both online and over the phone. Sandoval says he has never felt fight-or-flight like he did with the situation.
Sandoval also expresses his disappointment that his costars talked about his situation on their podcasts. He feels like they are using his issues for personal gain and to add salaciousness to their show. Parts 2 and 3 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion air on Bravo Wednesday, May 31, and Wednesday, June 7, at 9 PM ET.
Cohen and Sandoval both agree that people need to tone down the backlash and unnecessary hatred. Although their scandals will follow them forever, they hope people don’t forget that they are still human beings.
