ABC has announced a new spin-off of The Bachelor called The Golden Bachelor, focused on senior singles searching for love, while Bachelor in Paradise will return for its ninth season this fall.

ABC has announced a new addition to The Bachelor franchise, The Golden Bachelor, featuring senior singles looking for love. The show follows a “whole new kind of love story” as a hopeless romantic is given a second chance to find a partner to share their golden years with. The show’s leading man and entrants are yet to be announced, however, the description promises viewers a chance to see if he will turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams.

The Golden Bachelor reflects a recent casting call for older romantic hopefuls seen on many recent episodes of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The show’s exact premiere date is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to debut in ABC’s 2023 fall TV lineup announcements. The return of the popular Bachelor in Paradise will also air later this year.

Season eight of Bachelor in Paradise recently concluded, with two couples getting engaged. Victoria Fuller and Johnny DePhillipo and Brandon Jones and Serene Russell both planned to tie the knot soon after their engagement. However, Victoria was seen with Bachelorette alum Greg Grippo, and Johnny accused his former fiancée of cheating, leading to their breakup. Similarly, Brandon and Serene also called it quits, deciding to end their engagement after trying to work through publicly-difficult challenges.

As the future of the writer’s strike remains up in the air, it is yet to be seen if the fall schedule will include scripted programs. For Bachelor Nation, The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise will provide ample drama and romance. Jesse Palmer will host Bachelor in Paradise’s ninth season, which will feature a new batch of contestants from the extended Bachelor family.
