U.S. vice president under Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1973 who was forced to resign in 1973 after being charged with accepting bribes. He was the only second Vice President in United States history to resign and was the only one to do so because of criminal charges.
Spiro Agnew was born in Baltimore. He was promoted to an officer position in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He was the 55th Governor of Maryland from 1967 to 1969.
