Former Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards has pled guilty to harassment and has had three charges against him dismissed, according to court documents. The charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and stalking, which were filed against him after his divorce from estranged wife Mackenzie Edwards, have been dismissed. Edwards has been ordered to complete rehab treatment and wear a GPS monitor to ensure he has no contact with Mackenzie, 26, except as allowed by the circuit court. He received a suspended 11-month, 29-day sentence and has been placed on probation.

Edwards was taken into custody in February 2021 after Mackenzie reported to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office that he had accused her of cheating and posted revealing photos of her via his Instagram page. Mackenzie sought out an order of protection after the social media incident. However, Edwards broke the court order when he allegedly contacted Mackenzie’s father. His affidavit of arrest also revealed that he allegedly threatened Mackenzie over the phone. Later that month, Mackenzie filed for divorce after six years of marriage, also securing a restraining order and temporary custody of their two children.

Edwards drove himself and Mackenzie to their controversial wedding ceremony in 2017, where he slurred his words and nodded off. After the incident aired, he entered a treatment facility for substance abuse issues. In April 2018, a source revealed that Mackenzie was in “complete abject denial” about her husband’s addiction, and chose to believe him. Although Ryan, Mackenzie, and Ryan’s parents were let go from the Teen Mom franchise in March 2021, Edwards appeared on a reunion episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion in February. At that time, he cried over his strained relationship with his eldest son Bentley, and expressed his desire to see him more often.

This news comes as another chapter in the tumultuous public life of Ryan Edwards, who has had several run-ins with the law and personal issues documented on the show. It is unclear how this plea deal will affect his life going forward or his relationships with his estranged wife and children.
