John Akii-Bua was born on the 3rd of December, 1949. He was popular for being a Hurdler. Ugandan hurdler remembered for being the first athlete of any kind to win an Olympic gold medal for Uganda. He won the 400-meter hurdles at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, where he set a world record with a time of 47.82 seconds.
