Jinger Duggar Expresses Love for Parents Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Despite Differences, Shares Gratitude for Her Upbringing

Jinger Duggar, known from “19 Kids and Counting,” expresses gratitude for her upbringing by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar despite acknowledging differences and imperfections in their relationship. She discusses her memoir “Becoming Free Indeed,” which details her journey of disentangling her faith from fear and the challenges of discussing its contents with her family, aiming to focus on theological issues rather than personal grievances.

Jinger Duggar expresses gratitude for her upbringing and love for her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, despite acknowledging differences and imperfections in their relationship, while also discussing her book about disentangling faith from fear.

Jinger Duggar, once a star on 19 Kids and Counting, openly admits her love for her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, despite their differences. "I’m grateful for my childhood," she confessed on the "Unplanned" podcast with Matt and Abby Howard. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, she hinted, sharing the struggles she faced growing up. Yet, at the end of the day, her love for her parents remains unshaken.

She dropped a bombshell about writing a book. It’s all about her upbringing under the strict Christian teachings of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP). Imagine the courage it took to tell her family about it. "It was hard," Jinger admitted, revealing the complexity of their reactions. They didn’t have to like it, but it was something she felt she needed to do.

Her rise to fame came through the family’s reality show, which hit a snag in 2015. The scandal involving her brother, Josh Duggar, brought an abrupt end to the series. Jinger’s 2023 memoir steers clear of family drama, focusing instead on her personal journey with IBLP. She aimed to challenge the teachings without causing unnecessary offense to her family.

In her book, Becoming Free Indeed, Jinger reflects on her initial year of marriage to Jeremy Vuolo. She was taught to "perform" to keep her husband faithful, a notion Jeremy encouraged her to challenge. He wanted her to be her true self, to express her own opinions and convictions.

Jinger and Vuolo’s marriage in 2016 marked the beginning of a new chapter. They now have two daughters and were part of the 19 Kids and Counting spinoff, Counting On. However, the family’s relationship with TLC ended in 2021 after Josh Duggar’s arrest.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Jinger finds the distance from her family both bitter and sweet. It allows her and Vuolo to grow as their own family unit. Yet, she keeps in touch with her family, especially her mom and sisters, through calls and a family group message. This balance of independence and connection seems to suit her just fine.
